Vita Lanoce, Chief Executive Officer of global clinical research organization Linical Americas, has been awarded the Rutgers School of Engineering 2021 Distinguished Achievement in Research Award. The award, presented annually, is part of the university’s prestigious Medal of Excellence program.
The Medal of Excellence and Distinguished Alumni Awards were established by the School of Engineering in 2006. The awards are presented annually and recognize alumni who are distinguished in their profession and for their service in industry, academia, government, research, and business. Nominations are accepted annually from faculty, staff, alumni, or friends, and recipients are selected by an awards committee that includes School of Engineering faculty and deans. Ms. Lanoce (graduate of the class of 1985 with a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering) is the recipient of the award for Distinguished Achievement in Research, honoring an alumnus whose achievements in research have significantly contributed to the advancement of new technologies.
Ms. Lanoce’s award was introduced by John Li, a distinguished professor in the school’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Pearl Lee Buccine, a junior studying biomedical engineering at Rutgers. Professor Li remembered Vita as one of the best among the more than 100 Masters and PhD students, which now include tenured full professors, dean and department chairs, industry vice presidents, chief scientists and managers, and a U.S. astronaut finalist, that he advised.
“I am truly honored to be selected as the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement in Research Award,” stated Vita Lanoce. “Rutgers Medal of Excellence Honorees are all leaders in their field and have made a significant impact to the school, their communities, and to industry. I am passionate about the work we do to advance research for promising medical treatments, and it is an honor to be recognized alongside this impressive group of recipients.”
